One Day Trip to Govaranahalli Lakshmi Temple

We  started ourJourney in early morning at 6.45am to Goravanahalli  temple and reached at 8.30am.,  The distanceis around 80 km from Bangalore, the journey will take around  1.30hr to 2 hr. Travel via National High wayNH7 up to Davas pete  then Right towardMadhugiri Road around 40km from Davas Pete. The Temple opens  at 6.00am to12.30pm and 5.30 to 8 pm every day.   This temple is dedicated to GoddessMahalakshmi, Goddess of Prosperity and Wealth.

According to the Local persons, this village person called Abbayya came into Possession of this Idol and started worshiping at his residence and he  blessed with Prosperity and Wealth in the times of 1900s.  One day Goddess Mahalaksmi  appear  in  his dream and asked him to  build a temple for her, Then temple was contrasted through Abbayya .  After few year one devotee called Mrs. Kamalamma  come to this village and found the temple in the deserted state. Then she decided to continue the same temple with performing the regular Pooja’s continues and temple was re- established at 1952.

This is one of best place for One day outing with Family, They can visit many temples  near by Mahalakshmi  Temple  like Ranganatha Swamy, Oni Nagappa Temple,  Renuka Temple,  Venkateshwar. There was a beautiful Dam for Theetha Reservoir in the same place. Family can spend time in this Dam, They can have food, fun etc.  

All the devotee believing that visiting to the temple every year will increase their prosperity and Wealth in their family. So most of the devotee from all part of South India will be coming to take blessing from Goddess Mahalakshmi.

Near by  places are Devarayana Durga,  Madhugiri  Fort, 

Food is available in the Hotel, Every Day 12.30 pm onwards food will be distributed by Temple  

Transport :  Private Bus are available from Bangalore and Tumkur, or Own Vehicle is preferable

Darshan  : Free Darshan, Rs.100 Special Darshan
